NSW North Coast motocross star heads south in search of Australian Title at the 2007 Oceania Motocross Championships

Australian motocross star, Craig Anderson of Speers Point on the NSW north coast will head to Victoria as part of the Team Honda Racing to defend Australia’s honour at next weekends (27-28) Oceania Motocross Championships at McAdam Park, Barrabool Geelong.
Anderson, who is considered one of Australia’s most celebrated off-road riders was lured away to the States for several years before realising that his future was back home in Australia, returning in 2005 to specifically ride for Honda.
In his first year back on home soil, the talented Aussie finished the majority of his races standing on the presentation podium. For Anderson, his greatest win came in 2006, when he won back the Australian Motocross Championships racing for Honda. This win not only delivered his twelfth overall championships, but also Honda’s first Open win in over 15 years.
Fellow Team Honda Racing members, Peter Boyle, Josh Cachia and Cameron Taylor will also compete as part of the team, in a battle on dirt that will attract crowds over 7500 spectators.
Cameron Taylor of Berwick Victoria is the veteran of the group at 33 years of age. Across his career Taylor has been able to lay claim to the Australian Moto-X Championships in 1993 and then twelve years later in 2005. In 2004, he was crowned German Supercross Champion, following with Australian Supercross Champion.
Fellow team member 20-year-old Peter Boyle of Stony Creek Victoria turned
pro in 2006 and finished third on a moto at Connodale/ Prolites. In his first
year of
Pro- racing, Peter finished an impressive tenth at the 2006 Pro Open.
Teaming up with the big guns will also be Team Honda Racing member and rookie, Josh Cachia who has started his journey to turn professional in 2008. At the age of ten, the grommet from Kilmore Victoria won his first national motocross championships and in 2005 was selected to test his skills overseas riding at the Moto-X in China.
Team Honda Racing will head to Barrabool, Geelong late next week to line up against other top names in the Motocross including New Zealand stars, Joshua Coppins, Daryl Hurley, Nick Saunders and Jesse Donnelly, as well as fellow Aussie riders, Jake Moss and the combine super duo Jay and Ryan Marmont for the title of “King” of the 2007 Oceania Motocross Championships.
